: Hello to everyone. I have a 71 Mav. Grabber that I built over the past 8 months. I swapped a six for a 302 and am familiar with the problems encountered. I have a complete set of service manuals for 1971 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars. My car runs great but needs a fan shroud. I have checked the salvage yards locally without success. Any help would be appreaciated. By the way I live in the Kansas City area.

I can definately relate to this as I have search all of New Jersey for a shroud. It seems that that it is the first thing destroyed by the "auto recyclers". The Maverick piece is unique unto itself and the original piece from Ford is now obsolete. My radiator is from a 73 V-8 Mav and after looking up dimensions in the Ford Parts book, I found that the shroud with part #DOZZ-8146-B ($86.00) can fit with a minor amount of modification.

The top mounting holes on the radiator neeed to be redrilled 1/4" higher and the lower holes 1/4" lower. The top shroud mounting holes (slots) are used, but the bottom holes need to be moved up 1/4". I just got it in the car yesterday and it made a big difference in keeping the engine cool at an idle.
