: I did this conversion on my '72 just this past summer. (You can see this black car on the 4th page of the photo gallery - it's the only one there). This was by far the hardest, most ambitious thing I can think of doing. I had to custom make lots of parts and do a lot of test-fitting. DON'T try to hook up the computer without a wiring diagram for your car, and the car you took the computer out of! You need to get power (and other things) to the computer through your present electrical system, and you have to be sure you know what goes where. You also need to obtain the entire wiring harness from the donor Mustang. You must be sure to have the whole thing. Also, the upper intake manifold from a 91 Mustang will not fit in a Maverick. You mast use one from a '95, as it is curved and will clear the shock tower (another expense).

: Another concern is fuel delivery. The 5.0 EFI uses an electric fuel pump, and you need to run a return line back to your fuel tank. This takes some work, so you'd better be sure that you really want to do this. If you're really serious about this, you can email me and I'll go into more detail, as what I have said here is only the tip of the iceberg.

: : In my local paper someone is advertising a 5.0 HO engine from a '91 Mustang with 46k miles for $400. I already have a 302 in my '72 mav. Has anyone tried this conversion? The 5.0 is fuel injected right? What is involved in hooking up all the computer stuff for the injection? What other problems would I encounter? Any info would be appreciated.
