: In my local paper someone is advertising a 5.0 HO engine from a '91 Mustang with 46k miles for $400. I already have a 302 in my '72 mav. Has anyone tried this conversion? The 5.0 is fuel injected right? What is involved in hooking up all the computer stuff for the injection? What other problems would I encounter? Any info would be appreciated.

Don't forget, it is possible to simply put a carburetor on the 5.0 and let the EFI stuff sit on the shelf until you're ready to tackle that job. I did that with an early Mustang, the '87 5.0 went in with a Weiand Stealth 4V intake and Holley 600 cfm carb. I used the reverse-rotation 5.0 water pump and fan, keeping the serpentine belt drive. All I've got to do is work on the wiring stuff now. For the time being,
it's a great performer. Be sure to get a distributor that's specific to the '85 5.0 wi' 4V carburetor, that's the only year the carb and steel roller cam were offered together. You need that billet steel gear for the distributor; the roller cam will eat up a cast iron gear like you would'nt believe.
