Lincoln versailes and some Mercury monarchs had the 9-inch rear with disc brakes. '67-'70 Mustanges had the "nine" as well with drum brakes. In either case, these rearends are only 2-inches wider than a stock Maverick 8-inch...
: I know I'm not going to get a stock 9 inch rear that is as small as the Maverick 8 inch, but I know that there are a few that are close. What are they out of? Do any have stock disc brakes? I was also thinking of taking one to my stepdad to have it narrowed. I know that in the mid seventies ford went from straight axles to tapered axles. What year was it? Which models came with 31 spline axles or posi units?
