Yes this is some very useful information. I don't presently have front discs, but plan on installing them soon. I already have detailed information on this job. I'll post another message if I need more info. Thaks for the help.

: A 9 inch rear from a Granada, Monarch, or Lincoln Versailles will bolt directly into your Maverick. (I know because I did it). It's only an inch wider overall. Some of the Granadas and Monarchs had disc brakes, and as far as I know all of the Versailles had them. If you have front discs already, you can use your existing proportioning valve. You'll have to make up a short piece of brake line though, to reach from the existing line in the car to the hose on the center of the axle.

: Hope this helps. If you need further details, let me know.

: : I know I'm not going to get a stock 9 inch rear that is as small as the Maverick 8 inch, but I know that there are a few that areclose. What are they out of? Do any have stock disc brakes? I was also thinking of taking one to my stepdad to have it narrowed. I know that in the mid seventies ford went from straight axles to tapered axles. What year was it? Which models came with 31 splin axles or posi units?
