: Is it the cold weather? It seems if I leave Alice over night I can guarentee that come the morning I'll be spending a good while trying to wake her up... there seems to be plenty of power there, just not quite enough to kick her over. Even after she starts (and I do let her idle for a few minutes in the morning (much to the annoyance of my nieghbors) she still sounds like crap until we've spent time on the freeway. In the afternoon when I pick her back up at the park and ride she's usually just fine... (commuting to Art school.. no WAY am I dealing with Seattle traffic 5 days a week!)
: The radiator was replaced back in September and the cooling system flushed so I know there's plenty of antifreeze... (heater core was also replaced 6 months ago.)
: Does it sound like my alternater's going bad? Almost everything else electrical is also 2 years old at the latest.)
: Maybe it's thta she's just not a morning car....

: PS, as far as her SFA, it's been put on 2-3+ month hold... more than likely I'll just save up the money and have the springs replaced...

Cold weather? in Seattle? Wet maybe but never cold. I lived in Buffalo,NY (go bills) and Alaska for a few years, now we're talking "COLD".
Anyway to make "ALICE" wake up in the moring try the following, will only cost you about $20 or so,and you can do it by your self.
First thing clean the battery terminals, tighten up all the screws and nuts on the carburetor,if you don't have a offset screwdriver you will have to remove the carb to do this! Check your choke heat tube connection, clean your automatic choke pull down with some carb cleaner, make sure you note the index mark on the housing, you may have to reset this"this maybe the real problem"
Replace the thermostat with a 190 degree.(it clears your windows faster and keeps your toes toastie) and it won't hurt the engine. Replace the PVS and make sure all hose's are tight.
If after all this "ALICE" still has a hard time in the moring ,we may have to look at her dual diaphragms,or just don't leave "ALICE" alone over night.
