hey I just fixed almost the same exact problem with the 400M in my '79 1/2 ton. My problem was nearly identical. She'd idle fine, sort of rev, but couldn't be driven. It started out as a simple miss on the highway. Like yourself, I've now got an entirely new fuel delivery system. That was not the problem, nor was the PCV,EGR,or exhaust. The problem was with the distributor. There's a keyway in the shaft that prevents the 8-sided star thing from moving off the shaft. Somehow, the positioning key got sheared off over time. all of a sudded it broke, causing all my problems. My advice would be, if you haven't solved the problem, spend the $35 for a new distributor. or check yours out
