The C-6 won't go in the car without EXTENSIVE modifications. The trans tunnel isn't big enough, so you would have to enlarge it. And not with a hammer, but actually cut it out and weld in a new one. Also, the trans mount is TOTALLY different on a C-6. It is a lot further back on the transmission, so won't match up to the car....again, an extensive modification required.
I would recommend the C-4. It will bolt right in, and can handle the engine.

: i have a 1972 ford maverick and i am planning on dropping in a 351W block with a C6 tranny into place of the stock 200 cubic inch motor. does anyone know if it will fit into there without cutting anything up? does anyone know what parts i would have to change on the car other then tranny crossmember and motor mounts? please any info would be helpful.
