: On my way home from work yesterday I saw a blue 2 1971 maverick that I have seen around town for the last 3 or 4 years with a for sale sign on it, asking price, $300 OBO.
: I know the history on this car and know all about it, the guy selling it is the 2nd owner and has been driving it for 7 years. the cars interior is ragged, bad ragged, but the body isn't too bad at all, one cancer spot (behind the left rear wheel) and a few small dings, the paint is ugly but it looks like a few hours with a buffer could bring it back to life.
: the interor is (like I said before) HARD core ragged, the front bench is worn to spings on the driver side, the original blinker switch has been replaced with a after market "universal blinker contol" (UUUUUUggggllly), the dash is cracked (go figure), the head liner is falling apart and the back seats are shredded, there is one small rust spot in the rear floor (pass side) and the DS window is broken out.
: It runs pretty sorry like , coughs sputters, no power, feels like all cab problems, is powerd by the best damn motor that ford ever made, the 200 I6, single barrel carter carb, no AC, no PS no PB... :) just a plain ole maverick, just like the "Turd" (those who are some what new to the board dont remember my "turd" but it was a damn fine runnin POS looking 70 Mav.)
: the horses are controlled via a C4, I dont know that I want to drive an auto, I know where another maverick with a 200I6 and a 3sp top loader is in a junk yard, but if the car runs I'll concern myself with the cosmetics 1st.
: seeing as how I am flat broke and tend to be that way quite often and also seeing as how I have owneed my 'bird for almost a year I think it has come time to sell the T'bird and get back to what my hearts desire is, Mavericks!!!
