A little late answering this post, but figured I'd offer a little advice. I mounted my battery in the trunk with 1/" bolts and one day after doing a hole shot at the track, had the car die on me. Everything went dead and she wouldn't start. The forces from launching the car sheared the bolts. So I decided to follow the NHRA rule book. These arethe specs: Use 3/8" minimum bolts to bolt the battery down, battery needs to be fully enclosed and vented to outside of trunk OR a firewall needs to be placed between the trunk and passenger area, the bolts holding the battery down are supposed to go through the frame. Most tracks let you slide on this spec. Also, with the battery mounted in the back, you should have a remote on/off switch installed (I mounted mine through the right backup light). Battery cable can be bought at a welding supply center a lot cheaper than at any parts store, by the way.
