The Z bar, or equalizer bar, is the mechanical linkage for the clutch. You will need another because your 6-cyl linkage is different from the V8. Frame mounts are kind of hard to find, a junkyard is your best bet, or someone on the board might have some. I may be able to locate some but you never know. They are usually less than $80 pair. $800 is a decent price for a rebuilt toploader, although a good used toploader can be found for about half if you're lucky. I got mine for $300 but had to rebuild it. It is not too difficult. I am not sure about the bellhousing... Good Luck. -CP
: i got a 5.0 sitting at my house and need to know what i need to put it in i am trying to locate a toploader 4 speed and rebuild the engine i currently got a 72 mav. with a stright six 200cid . and a three spd. what is a Z BAR??? and will i need one for my car and where do i get the frame to moter mounts ?? and how much will they cost i found a top loader transmission for 800 fully rebuilt is that a good price and will i need a special bellhousing to fit the 5.0 or will the original one work please help me thanks for the info
