: I'm trying to build the Maverick that never was, but should have been. After finding a console that actually fits correctly and doesn't look like a add on I got to thinking about gauges. Or lack or gauges. My tack hangs off the steering column, oil pressure and water temp is between the radio and glovebox and amp gauge is between lower steering colum and radio. My brainstorm was this: trying to take the factory gauges out of a pinto-bobcat-mustang II and adapt to my dash. THey look to be about the same size and it wound be nice to have a in dash tach and a speedo with resetable odometer. I figure the rest can be mounted on the other side of the ashtray. (gas gauge, oil pressure, amp, temp). Anybody thy this yet, or will I be the first? I want to see how many factory parts I can use.
AutoMeter And VDO Told me they can mount there gauges in a factory pod.
This is a pricey proposition though.
