a few different sources, one guy that has built them and cc-ed the chambers verified 58cc(although I can't verify the difference between different heads, mine may be bigger, could be smaller, we all know Ford quality hit a low spot in the mid-late 70s). said the exhaust sucks, but small chambers. anyways, the info I got was they were all 58.2 cc until like 77, then, like you said, 69+, until like 84-85, when they went to 64. anyways...


: ...There have been several variations in chamber volumes in these heads; the smallest was the '63 Hi Perf 289 version at 47.7-50.7cc, then came the early production 289 head at 52.3cc, but the MAJORITY of 289 heads are listed as "standard" at 53.5cc. There were some variations in early 302 chamber volumes, BUT the MAJORITY of post '68 heads are 63.2cc (I don't know where you got your specs). Any difference in compression ratio in these engines were related to piston height. And I'm glad to hear that you know the basics...
