Todd, you're wrong about the traction-lok, Detriot Lockers (like in early Shelbys) made awful noises but the Traction-Lok isn't really a Locker, it uses clutches. It is a Ford Factory piece and came in all sorts of cars. I have one in my Maverick and I notice no difference compared to an open unit as far as noise goes -CP
: Well think of it this way while you can do 70 now at 30000RPM when you put in the 4.11's your speedo will still be doing 70 at 30000RPM but you will only be going 45-55 also with the traction lock you will get the added comfort of hearing it lock and unlock every time you turn a tight turn at slow speeds. If you don't do a lot of highway driving you will like the added acceleration you will get.
: : Right now have 8" open rear with 2.79's and have access to a rebuilt 4.11 traction-loc unit. Looking for more off the line grunt. Will these be unbearable on the highway or rev out too quick from a standing start?? Thanks for any opinions.
