DONT rebuild the engine. With that much damage (and as many festivas that are already junked), itd be cheaper & easier to put a junkyard engine in the car. Then you could keep it or sell it. If you're saying that you'd give the car and $100 for a 250 6, that doesn't sound like a very good deal. $100 would be about the going price anyway, right?
You might try to sell it to a mechanic shop. My boss buys car like that all the time, since he gets great deals on parts (& labor). You could probably get $75-100 out of it that way. -CP

: I have this 89 Ford Festiva. The timing chain broke and the valve subsequently bent when they came into contact with the piston. Should I
: a) Rebuild the engine as a second car?
: b) Get 25 for scrap or 100$ trade for a inline 250 for my maverick?
: c) Fix it up and sell it to some poor soul and buy the inline 250 anyway
: plus headers and maybe a two-barrel?

: The third one I have a moral dillemma about. But hey someone pawned it off on me right?
