:simpler and sweet, go to the 60s toploader and floor shifter, it'll look like factory and it's very easy. won't cost you an arm and a leg either.
I've got a 73 Grabber I'm starting on this summer. The only thing I don't like is the 3 speed manual tranny. 1st is way too low and the ratios are too far apart.
: I don't want to start hacking sheet metal since it's in really good shape but do want to put a different tranny in it. What would fit without irreversible modifications? Automatic with a floor shift is okay, 4 or 5 speed would be better.
: Swapping brackets or pieces is fine, just no cutting. I'd like to be able to put it back stock at some point.
