I don't know where your coil is on that car, but it could be the coil wire arcing to to coil because of a bad connection or loose wire. Replace the wire, if that doesn't help, then try a coil, (might as well replace all the wires, but dont go autozone-cheap with wires, they wont last and can cause all kinds of problems, I seen it over & over. Go with Motorcraft, AcDelco, or Belden wires if you can) -CP
: when my 250-6 is idling, there is a popping/clicking sound that sounds like ignition arcing off somewhere. it is intermittent and comes from somewhere in the area below the brake master cylinder. i think most likely it's ignition current, that's what it sounds like... it could possibly be something else, but i don't know what else would make that sound. any ideas? i have new dist. cap, HT leads, points/cond.
