: You really not need mess with tag #'s, because the rearends are easy to identify. The 7.5" has a bolt-on rear cover, while the 8-inch (shown) has a welded-on rear cover. The 9-inch is similar to the 8-inch, but it is doubtful that you have a 9" (they were never factory installed). Check out my website (link below) for pictures of a Versailles 9" rearend if you still think it is a 9". -CP
