July 22 & 23, 2000 The 16th annual Ford Superfest held at Milan Dragway - Milan ,MI is being revamped for the millennium. Accommodating the new style of racing engines developed by Ford, we have added a MODULAR MOTOR class. The purse total is $2,500 with $1,000 going to the winner and being paid through the eighth finals. This years exciting features are IHRA's defending Pro Stock World Champion Chris Holbrook debuting his brand new Stu Evans' PRO STOCK MERCURY COUGAR. In PRO MOD action, Johnny Rocca's Ironhorse world record holding '49 Mercury will be match racing. Billy Glidden and his 5.0 Mustang vs. Stewart Evans' 5.0 Mustang in OUTLAW STREET action. Plus Danny O’Day’s brand new '34 Ford wheelstander, the Jet funny cars of Fred Sibley's Hooters Mustang car with the Hooters Girls vs. the Dragon Hunter Jet Mustang. Other features will be 5.0 classes, Top Gun Shootout for the fastest eight cars in Bracket 1 on Saturday, manufacturers midway, swap meet, car show, car corral and bracket racing. There will be three classes of competition with the purse over $15,000 for the two days of competition. Setup will be Friday with gates opening at 12 noon and testing from 5p.m. until 11 p.m. Saturdays opening at 8 a.m. Sunday at 8 a.m. Spectator tickets will be $15 per day or $25 for weekend, racing entries will be $50 - B1, $40 - B2, $35 -B3.
