: I have not used the sportsman heads yet but I have heard very good things about them. They are one of the best cast Iron heads for the Windsor. Chances are with that small of a cam you should have no problem with piston to valve clearance but to make sure, on any engine you ever build you should always check. basically mock up the motor, I do it without the head gasket on, and with only 2 of the rockers on. take a small piece of clay and put it on the valve reliefs of the piston and rotate the motor over, make sure to set the proper lash, and if you are using hydraulic flat tappet lifters you need to pre lube the lifters because the lift will be less if you dont. Ask your machine shop more about doing this but it is a lot better than just bolting them on and bending the valves and taking out the pistons on a new motor. Also what's the lobe center of the cam? the wider the LC the more lift you can get away with.
: AS: Any one ever put a set of World Products Sportsman heads on a 302? They said they would fit, when I got the heads and pulled out the installation instructions, I find that I am to notch the pistons for the bigger valves. Bummer! Called World Products back, they then say 80% will fit with no work. Have a Bracket Master Cam 488 lift ex. and in.

I thank you for the imput.
