Any 302 will fit in your Maverick perfectly. They changed over the years but they all mount the same. The only problems you might see is if you have a stickshift with a late model 5.0L (I'll assume you don't).
Just remember, you need frame mounts (bolt between the frame and the motor mounts) from another Maverick or Comet with a 302 to make the engine fit. "What could be some problems with it," if you rebuild it you'll be fine, especially if it was running ok when it was removed. -CP
