I talked about them above, too, but I think you're right about the gear spacing. I don't really know for sure. If the gears were right you'd think they'd be great trannies, because they are aluminum and based on the super-strong toploader design. I don't know where they were made, but they are a Ford transmission -CP

: ...I think they were aluminum cases & made in Mexico. I recall they also had internal shift rail - similar to the T5. Their gear spacing is kinda weird, so I don't think they are all that good for any performance applications;-)
