What do you consider extensive. I put one in a 72 Comet Gt.
You have to use headers. The only modifications were triming the motor mount to clear the headers, relocate the oil filter and modify the trans mount for the C6.
No Cutting or pounding. It is close but looks great and the constent 6,00 plus rpm runs are great.
i have been driving mine as a daily driver for 18 months now. i have almost every thing to put a nine inch under it. It will also be a bolt in from ford parts. Best time so far is 14 in the quarter mile, just won't hook up on street tires.
