There should not be a problem with tearing up your dash if you have a
shop install the head unit or unless you are very handy in your home shop.
The dash cutout for the factory radio is a non-standard size (by todays standards)
and replacement faceplates used to mount todays radios won't fit exactly.
Either you or a shop has to make a mounting plate to fit the hole in
the dash. I made my own from black plexiglass and metal brackets to
duplicate the factory plate form and fit only with a smaller cutout
for the radio.
