Emissions test failed 3x this year for CO2 at loaded just out by a very small margin. I have tried so far resetting the timing and changed the plugs, turned the mixture screw all the way in etc. It's over fueling still and I am now looking more at the carburator either rebuilding or buying a rebuilt one, cost $120.00 for rebuild carb, $15.00 for a rebuild kit. My question is basically on specs for the 250 eng, timing initial I have it at 6 degrees now, runs worse. Also if anyone is good with Carbs and has any initial settings for me on mixture and float I would appreciate it. It has a 1 barrel carter factory carb and has passed with flying colors the previous 3 years. I have to get it through emissions this time tags are expired, tried Alcohol and no air cleaner etc. I need a sure thing and some general guidelines for timing and carb adjustments initial, also what could cause the over fueling and high CO2 readings and how can I fix that issue. I am not real good with Carbs and rebuilding them, when you turn the mixture screw in further does that give you less or more Gas ? Seemed to actually make the CO2 reading higher on my last failure, had it all the way in bottomed out the mixture. I need a Carb Gu Ru and some general specs for the 250 ci eng has electronic ignition and automatic trans. THX
