I looked in the archives and found this:

Removing a dash pad from a Maverick is a real pain. It's held on by 6 nuts and 2 screws that go in from behind the dash itself. To remove it you must first remove
your glovebox and lower plastic panel that strecthes the length of the dash, the ductwork that feeds your vents, the gauge cluster, and the heat / A/C controls. It
might also be helpful to remove the ashtray as well. After the gauge cluster is out, you'll be able to see the first 2 or 3 nuts holding the dash pad. They're the easy
ones. The ones on the passenger side are harder to see - you'll have to reach your arm up there from below (that's why you have to remove the glovebox etc.) in line
with the others and try to feel them. After you get all the nuts, there is one screw in each end of the pad (also behind). You should be able to see the one on the
drivers side after you remove the heater controls. The one on the passenger side is in the same place, but harder to get a screwdriver on because you can't see it.
Also, don't be surprised if all the nuts aren't there. I've removed several, and sometimes they came from the factory with 1 or more missing! Once you do it, you'll
never forget how, but the first time is a bear... Good luck!

: Where did the article about how to take off the dash pad off go? I am doing that right now and am having trouble with a few things.

: 1. Where do I find the asshole that designed this.

: 2. I cant get the little controls on the heater control off.

: 3. I found a plug above the package tray that I have no clue what it goes to (It wasn't pluged into anything when I drove in to the garage)it is designed like this -_-

: I have the spedometer off and I took the package tray off for ease of getting under there. It is a 70 mav if that matters. I am also takeing off the dash under the dash. I dont know what else to call it. The part that has the maverick embelem on it. Are there any bolts hidden in the back part of it? I think my vocabulary has doubled in the last 4 hours
