It could be that your vaccuum hose is off. With no vaccuum source the vents will blow defrost. Check the vaccuum hose in the engine compartment and make sure it is hooked up. The hose that hooks to a vaccuum source is all black with no stripes. Much cheaper than a heater control, if that is the problem. Check my website (link below) for heater/ac vaccuum diagrams. -CP
: I have a 72 Maverick with factory AC and Heat. I have had the car about 3 years and sence I have had it all of the hot and cold air come through the defrost vent olny. It doesnt matter what you have the control on all air comes through the defrost.
