: the front end of my 74 comet needs work. I've got a lead on some front disk brakes from a 75 maerick and I'm thinking that while I've got it apart, I might as well just go ahead and replace what needs replacing. Should I just go ahead and spring for a full complete frontened kit from someplace like PST for 400-500 bucks or just try to pick up the individual components at my local auto parts.

: Also, I've got this "clunk" when I shift from forwrd to reverse(or vice versa). yes, I am stopped before I do this. I'm thinking motor mount or transmission mount. How difficult are these to find? Thanks

If you are going to keep the car and don't mind the down time go with the whole kit from some one like pst.If not go with just what parts you need now from parts store.Clunking could be what you mentioned but more likely would be driveshaft u-joints check these first. With car in neutral emergency brake applied and wheels blocked try to wiggle the shaft sideways and up and down to see if it moves excessively. If it does replace the joints.
