I checked out a 79 granada with a 8" rear last week and I need some input. Fortunately, we have some snow on the ground so I was able to do a quick and dirty test for a traction-loc. The first time I placed it into reverse and started accelerating both wheels spun so I tested it again. The second time, one wheel began spinning and then the spinning would switch to the other side. The spinning was a "back and forth thing" switching from side to side. I thought that once an open rearend began spinning that was it. Any thoughts? Worn out traction-loc?
