1957 Ford 9" rearend will work, 1965-66 Mustang 9" rearends will work, but the most availible are the 1975-80 Granada, Monarch, and Versailles rearends. Not all of these cars had 9" rears, but they are not too hard to find. As for price, they are usually around $300 at a swap meet. They can be much cheaper than paying to have one cut down (of course, if it was free in the first place it might be worth the cutting) I've seen them for as low as $150, and as high as $450 (that was a Versailles disc brake unit). I put a Versailes rear in my Maverick, fit great. I have lots of info on that on my website. Click link below. -CP

: In about two weeks I'm going to have a 9" rear end chopped dowm for my 71maverick. Got to reading the posting below and was woundering if there is a 9"rear end that will fit in a maverick without all the cutting and welding? The 9" I got now is out of a Ranchero,( it wasfree )..
