: : a engine swap is the easy part. It's the little things that will test your grit. You also might want to get the V-8 throttle cable, different lenght, you'll need a bigger radaitor and don't ever use the earlier 302s they have the waterpump and damper mounted the old "289" way.
: As for coil springs. try the old ones first and see how it sets. 302 and some 6 bangers almost weigh the same. My Moog catalog shows the same front springs on both of some 6 & 8 cylinder cars. The really big difference in front coils was the power acc. especially A/Cs, power steering. Lots of weight there.

:::: Be sure you get a cable off of a'70-'72 model, they changed in '73.The little flange that bolts to the fire wall had two bolts and the end that fastens to the pedal has a plastic peice that slides into a slot, so the pedals are diff. too!
:
: Could someone tell me what I need to do in order to put a 302v8 into a 1970 6 cyclinder Maverick?

: : Thank you in advance.
: : Sincerely,
