Disconnect the connector at the gas tank & attach a good groung to both pins. If the gauge deflects to full then the gauge is good. Next short the 2 pins together. If it deflects then the sending unit is bad. If it dosent then your ground is bad. short each pin one at a time. The one that deflects the gauge is the good line & the other is the ground. That is where your problem will be. If the gauge dosent deflect at all then there is a small retangular box on the back of the dash assembly. This is a voltage regular & is probably the problem. The only thing left would be the gauge itself
