T.L. is right, that is most likely your choke. my car was fine for the end of the summer, until it started to get cold, then i would have to stick something in the carb to keep the choke open so i could start it. god bless my mechanic for showing me how to adjust it!!! mine was way a LOT more shut than it was supposed to be... yours sounds like its too open.
: Well...i meant warm meaning it idles at normal idle rather than fast idle...but the thermostat seems to be working properly as i don't get heat until after the car warms up (idle speed drops)...it's the same thermostat...it just seems like the fast idle is staying on a lot longer than it should be...
