Paulie's problem reminded me.....I have a brand NEW alternator I took off of a 1977 Mav I parted out. It still looks new, so it must not have been on there very long. The car was a one-owner car, and he drove it everyday until the leaf spring broke.
The car was a 250 6 cyl car with Air Conditioning, so it should be a heavy duty alternator. It worked great when I removed it. It is a Duralast and still has the part number if you are interested.
