Full Tune up is pretty much the norm whenever I've bought a car, takes a lot out of the equation as far as problems go. -CP

: Could be a worn out cable -OR- The cable could simply be unhooked...IF the speedo itself IS bad...Theyt are cheap & easy to find at the junkyard...Alternator could be bad OR the belt could've broke....Sounds like it needs a tune-up including a full air/fuel/choke adjustment & timing adjustment, cap & rotor, wires, points/condenser, spark plugs, fuel filter, PCV valve...the works...otherwise you're just gonna play the trial & error game 'til it makes ya sick....

: : I paid $450 for him and NO I don't intend to part him out BUT I DO have an extra (nice) '70 grill that came with it...
: : Other than a slipping tranny which I intend to have done next week.
: : One, no speedomater (oops!) this is a simple cable repair right?
: : Idiot alternater light come on BUT I have full streangth lights.
: : Can be a hard start sometimes and umless you have your foot on the gas perpetually it dies... guy said it might be the electronic choke (UG!) but Alice did the same thing and it was a PC (or some such) valve. I was also thinking a clogged feul filter?
