Well...everything safety wise is stock. I had some 255/60/15's but exchanged them for the 235/60/15's I use for street tires. I just know how well the car runs on the shorter 235/60/14's. I just don't want to over do or under do the slicks....if I go with them.

Thanks for the info.

: M/T makes some good slicks, don't go any wider then 9.5" and no taller the 27" or you'll have fender problems. Check out a set of Weld Draglite rims. They weigh half as much as a steel rim does, which means less rolling weight to get going. Pricy $145 each usually. And you have to go to 3" wheel studs with different rim nuts. But very much worth the extra money. Personally, factory studs, lugnuts and rims are very marginal when you want to go fast. Then we can start talking air pressure.
: Speed costs money, how fast you want to go. Also get a good set of seat belts, preferably a five point and a helmet. Safety is one place you never cut corners. I've seen some crap on the strip I wouldn't even drive across the street.

: : Okay...hoping to start doing a little Friday night racing with my Mav. I have some 235-14s as spare street tires. I was wondering what size slicks I should consider. I don't even know if I need slicks or not. It runs great on street tires. I've just never been down the drag strip yet.
