When I got my first Maverick, it was in similar condition to yours. Pristine, low mileage, and very nice. I limited my customizations to cosmetic things only. Since I had a factory V-8, I added a chrome dress-up kit, Grabber Hood, Rallye wheels, nice sound system, and bucket seats that happened to be the same color as the stock bench. I put all of the parts I took off up in the top of my garage for safe keeping should I ever decide to return the car to stock condition. I feel that if your car is that good to begin with, just dress it up a bit and don't make any permanent changes. Just my 2 cents...

: I just purchased a 1971 4-door Maverick. It is MINT. 40,000 original miles, absolutely no rust, body tight, 200 straight 6, interior perfect, I can't say enough about the condition of this car! It's never been touched and ALL parts are original.
: Now, my question is whether to keep it as is or remove the bench seats and install buckets, replace the original rims with aftermarkets, repaint (paint is now dark green and immaculate), replace the interior (which is now original greenish gold and perfect), etc.
: This is my dilemma. I love the look of an old car that looks new, but I also like the "extras" that can be added.
: Thanks!
