There are some companies, West Coast Mustangs, The Paddock, etc. that sell
a kit to put a piece of sheet metal in back of the rear seat, with insulator
and screws. These are for Mustangs, but it gives me the idea of cutting
a piece of sheet metal to go over the tank, or against the back seat. In case
of a collision, it should keep the gas out of the passenger compartment, at
least for a while, while you get out of the car. Hope this helps. Earl
