The 73 on ups had factory cutouts for 6.5 speakers built in. Behind the kick
panels you will see a thin lip, just cut around it with a razor blade and
then look in the junkyard for some factory grilles, 70s T Birds, Granadas,
Torinos, ect... All will work. They are rectangular looking and have metal
clips behind them that make instalation a breeze, and it also looks factory.
Again, this is for 73 up. IT would be easy to cut your panels and mount a set
of 4's but if you want GOOD sound you would be better to choose a location
in the doors as it sounds better going closer to your ears then your feet.
Just remember, shitty speakers in a good location will sound better then
good speakers in a shitty location. You could also have custom kick panel
pods made, but they can get pricey.
