: Earl,

: When I had my '72 all apart for restoration, I used a hole saw to cut a set of nice clean looking holes there for access to the grease fittings. It's extremely hard to reach them otherwise, unless you have a special right-angle adapter for your grease gun, and even then you have to remove the original fitting. I've seen people who just used a torch to cut the holes - it works but looks like the devil. Personally, I'll make this mod to every Maverick I own.

: : I have noticed that a previous owner has cut holes in the lower front part of both shock towers, apparently to gain easier access to grease fittings? Has anyone else ever seen this done? Is it good, bad, or indifferent? Thanks.
