I also do not like the looks of antennas, plus, putting a car cover on is a pain too. When I restored my 67 Mustang I mounted it horizontally under the passenger fender. Just a simple "L" bracket is all you need to make. Mount it as close to the firewall as possible. The wire will still be long enough. Also secure the other end with a cable tie so it dosent bounce & hit the underside of the fender. While reception is degraded a little, in most areas you wont notice the difference. Mostly people listen to a tape or cd anyway. sure improves the looks. I plan on doing this to my Sprint during its restoration,
