Gee, I wonder why they had that option for the car. Came from the Stangs. Not real common, but out then.

: There was a 3.08 but posi was not available.. I have several magazine articles that bemoan this fact (but say that a Falcon unit will bolt in) -CP

: : there is one quick way if no one has changed the rearend, check the door tag, rearend code if it's a letter, it's a posi, both 8" & 9" system works this way. Even if the clucthes are burned up it's rebuildable. Then check the tag if possible.
: : C was the only posi code for Mav/Comets= 3.08 posi. one year only, 70.

: : : I need some input from some of you grabber/GT buffs. Of these cars that have the 5 lug 8" rearend, what is the likelihood that they have a traction-loc third member? I ask because I found a GT in a very difficult position to obtain the rearend tag bolted to the third member. I know it is a V8 car. Also, don't get your hopes up, but, I may have found a clutch/Z-bar (the piece from the block to the pedal) for the V8 manual transmission maverick. I need some help identifying wether or not it is in fact a V8 piece. I assume it is called a z-bar becuase of its shape. If that is the case I don't think this would be the real thing. However, it is in a car with the V8 motor mounts in it. Thanks for the help
