I'm not too sure... I think it was becuase of multiple complaints from so many different people forced eBay to look into it.

: My roomate has had to relist a laptop he has for sale 5 different times because someone keeps getting the high bid and then backing out on the deal immediately when the auction ends. One of the guys actually won the auction twice and didn't pay! All of the usernames are similar and they are all AOL addresses. When AOL was contacted about the users, they claim that all of the names are not current AOL account holders, they say that someone has somehow set up an email account that reads as @aol.com, but actually goes somewhere else. eBay doesn't seem to think that this is a big deal, and they don't think that he has enough grounds to get them to investigate. I can see why they wouldn't want to, my friend has had to pay fees for every instance the laptop has been "sold." He has tried to get the fees removed, but to no avail. Sorry this isn't Mav related, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Tim

: : He was caught by a few very pissed eBayers! He had about three or four names from what they have told me. And I was looking at this and on the auction I won "the mint" valence, he ran up the bid on me !! He bid on his own stuff to raise the price ! What a PUNK @#$%^&*

: : : Just thought I would let you guys know that the Ebay seller "mavrik351w@aol.com"
: : : who is also probably "cyclonegt1@aol.com" just had a bunch of his auctions end June 8
: : : and is already "not a registered user". This means he has withdrawn or been kicked off of Ebay.
: : : There were a few people I have sold to on Ebay that I see on this board who
: : : won some of his auctions this week. If you are one of them, I would think twice before sending him
: : : any money.
