Erik; years ago, I raced a bone stock '77 Maverick, 302V8, Auto, stock
2:79 gears, and full interior, G78 X 14 tires. The car ran 15:60's in the
quarter, and that varied some with the weather. I ran the car in coastal
Virginia, which is right at sea level. I let the trans (C-4) shift most
of the time, but even with manual shifts, it ran mid-15's. Hope this helps
you. Like I said, this is my car, yours may be different. Oh, yeah, if you want
as neat traction device, take the snubber from above the rear end, make up
an extender and reinforcement plate, and make it adjustable. A Chrysler
snubber for an 8 3/4" rear end works good, but it's a bitch to mount well.
Hope this helps, Earl
