its kinda hard to cool the engine at idle after its been run hard, you may try keeping it at a steady 1500rpms or so after you run... although, yea, it shouldn't run hot... strictly drag or does it see the street? how does it handle normal running? mine only ran hot over 2600rpms... what is your timing set at?
also, you may need a thermostat to keep the water in the radiator long enough to cool it...
