i race circle track and i use a piece of sheetmetal with a 3/4" hole punched in it. no thermostat is bad and if you just gut the thermostat it is too big of a hole. 3/4" hole is a good starting point. unless you drive it on the street too. in that case listen to these other guys and put a thermostat back in it.............
