The Explorers didn't use an AOD before, and I think the new 5-speed auto is a variant of the old tranny. The 5-speed is not available with the 302, so I doubt it fits it. Paulie, I think you've got one of the regular old 4-speed AOD's.....
: is it the new one in the Explorers or whatever? I just plugged my 84 AOD in my Comet, nice TIGHT fit, but it fit nontheless. The shifter and crossmember need modification, takes some work, but not much parts. its up to you, how much highway travel do you do?
