Seeing how you have basiclly a chevrolet setup now do it like a small chevrolet. cut the top out of an old valve cover so that just the sides
are there to catch the oil. put it in place on the engine, start the engine and listen for the loose rockers first. tighten them just so they
dont click then take another 1/4 turn. Better to error on the side of loose. Loosen the rest until they do click then thighten them as I described
above. This worked well on my 65 mustang that came factory with adj rockers. Oh yea, and it will make a hell of a mess:)


: So what is the proper way to set the valves on my 289.It has hydrolic lifters guide plates, hardened push rods and non-rail type rockers.I got it running but it just doesn't seam right .
