Take off a valve cover and look for the numbers 289 cast into the head between the valves. If you see tow "periods" or "dots" cast right above the number 289, then you at least have 289 Hipo Heads.

: I couldn't find this on the archived boards, but how can you identify HiPo 289s? I found a 289 from a 67 cougar and wondered what the thing may be worth and how much power these engines produced. Any info would be helpful. i know we discussed this before but i can't find it!
