: : All that you said will do with any motor, but it would be good to know what the motor is. 6 or 8 cylinder.

I don't know the performance gains from stock 2 bbl to a 4 bbl. Never had a stock motor. I know that it should help to go with a nice 4 bbl. Something at or below a 600 cfm. Dual plane aluminum intake. Basically as the saying goes, "If it don't flow, it don't go".

I know that when I switched to an electronic ignition(Mallory) that it made a BIG diference in the starting, and runs alot better. You can go with an MSD 6A which will give you more performance and better milage. Multi Spark Discharge. Get a 160 Miloden or Mr. Gasket thermostat. Should gain a little HP due to running cooler.

Just make sure you have good cool fuel flow. Maybe buy a 1 inch phenolic carb spacer if there is hood clearence. Will pep it up a bit. Keeps the fuel from boiling in the carb.

A K&N air filter. More fresh air to the carb.

I definitely suggest the spacer and the thermostat. Should make a nice difference.
